Emily is diagnosed with down syndrome. She loves animals, especially cats. Felines hold a special appeal for Emily, as she finds the animals graceful and mysterious. For a person with Down Syndrome, art is a good platform for Emily to express her feelings and perspective to a wider audience. Through TOUCH’s support for her artistic gift, she has now developed a better appreciation for the use of colours in her art.
Emily has been developing her artistic talent at TOUCH SpecialCrafts, an art platform under TOUCH Centre for Independent Living. She also receives training in functional skills at the day activity centre.
