Light of Hope

Light of Hope

The Make A Difference Race returned on the evening of 8 October 2016, brighter and more vibrant than before. Organised for the second year by TOUCH Community Services (TOUCH) and carrying the theme ‘Light of Hope’, the night run which took place at Gardens by the Bay East aimed to raise awareness of mental health issues and rally the community in creating a more accepting society where individuals with or recovering from mental health conditions can seek help early and find support in the community.

Some 1,750 participants of both the 7km Competitive Run and 3km Buddy Run lit up the race route with LED lights strapped to their shoes. Guest-of-Honour, Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong also took part in the 3km Buddy Run with Executive Director of TOUCH, Mr James Tan, where they worked together to overcome obstacles along the route, symbolising how people with depression can overcome the odds with the community’s help.
