Carnival Coralis is a fundraising sporting event jointly organised by Coral Hearts and the TOUCH Silent Club, bringing together hearing and Deaf participants in a celebration of inclusivity, connection, and community spirit.
Members of the Deaf community often face barriers in daily life, including communication challenges, social isolation, and fewer opportunities to interact with the wider hearing community. These gaps can lead to misunderstandings and limited awareness of Deaf culture and experiences.
By creating opportunities for shared participation, Carnival Coralis encourages interaction in a more natural and engaging way. The 3km walk and carnival booths provide a platform for people to communicate beyond words, connect through shared experiences, and gain a deeper appreciation of one another’s perspectives.
All proceeds from the event will support the TOUCH Silent Club in organising programmes and activities that empower, connect, and uplift the Deaf community.
