DS-LS is a national early intervention programme under the Early Childhood and Development Agency (ECDA) in collaboration with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) for children in K1 and K2 with mild developmental needs.
DS-LS programme is a short-term early intervention programme that focuses in areas such as speech and language, social skills, motor skills, behaviour and literacy within the preschool. The intervention is provided in the preschool’s natural learning environment to enable generalisation of the skills acquired through DS-LS into the classroom setting.

Identification and Screening
Children with mild developmental or learning needs are identified by their preschool teachers. Our team of Learning Support Educators (LSEds) would screen the identified children.
Intervention
After discussion with a multi-disciplinary team from KKH and therapy teams from other organisations, these children may be referred for one of DS-LS packages below.

The intervention is conducted in the preschool during school hours and is provided by our Learning Support Educators (LSEds) and therapists from ECDA assigned organisations.
The preschool, teachers and parents will also be equipped with skills to meet the needs of the children and better support them through this programme.
Review
After the end of the intervention, the multi-disciplinary team would review each child’s progress and follow-up.
Fees
All fees are subsidised and range from $5 to $290 for the DS Programmes, and from $5 to $130 for the LS Programmes, based on means-testing.
